When you think of your wedding day, you’ve probably got an idea of what it will look like. You’ve pictured the dream dress, picked out the color scheme and all your friends and family are there. It’s the biggest day of your life, so you want it to be unique and memorable. Here are a few ways you can beat the stress and get back to enjoying the process.

Hire a wedding planner

Hiring a wedding planner is fantastic if you know you are going to be short on spare time. It also means that once you’ve discussed your likes and ideas with them, you are free to enjoy the finer points of planning the wedding rather than letting it take over you life. If you don’t want to hand over everything to a wedding planner, you could ask your maid of honor to help you plan some of the more mundane and time-consuming things.

Book a reception that takes care of itself

If you want a fuss-free wedding celebration, then consider making the reception a more casual affair. It doesn’t have to be a formal sit-down meal. You could hire a banquet room somewhere and provide a buffet for the guests. You can even hire food trucks for those late-evening snacks. Or you could look at wedding bands and let the guests enjoy some live entertainment leaving you time to spend with your new spouse.

Have a pre-wedding field day

Are you worried that not everyone will know each other before the big day? Organizing a day out for the groomsmen and bridesmaids can be a fun way of getting everyone acquainted. This, in turn, makes the impending wedding day seem less stressful. It could also be an excellent way to have a joint wedding shower.

Let your bridesmaids have a say

Ok, so you want your bridesmaids to follow the color scheme. It can look beautiful if bridesmaids can be in various shades of the same color, and looks great in the photographs. It also stops any arguments if they have more freedom over their dress styles and colors. Think of all the stressing that would save. Just make sure they let you veto final choices to avoid any big surprises.

Make the most of visiting friends and family

If you have friends and family traveling a long way for the wedding, then schedule some time to catch up with them. This is a great way to forget about the wedding itself for a few hours and reminds you of what’s really important. Try and schedule fun things to do with them so that you have a release for the wedding week stress. Be careful you don’t try to fit too many events in prior to your marriage, though.

Just roll with it

Once your wedding day arrives, just go with the flow. As soon as you are married, you won’t be worrying about the little things anymore. If anything doesn’t quite go to plan, just roll with it. After all, as long as everyone is having fun, then your day has been a success. Congratulations!
